Wind the TV antenna down and secure it in the travel position. ![]() Set the fridge to 12V mode so that it remains cool during your trip, and engage the travel catch. All internal loads and loose items in the caravan must be secured, this includes any bags, the TV, microwave plate, etc. Make sure all internal doors and cupboards are closed and secured - including the refrigerator door. □ While conducting these checks, it is a good idea to have a physical checklist printed as well as a second pair of eyes to prevent any oversights – especially if your RV has been in storage for some time. Prior to leaving home or travelling to your next destination, we have compiled a pre-trip RV checklist for you to ensure nothing is forgotten before driving off.įirstly, Know the height of your RV to ensure safe clearance on your routes and stops. Unhook the sewer, store the hose, place the sewer cap back on the campsite sewer connection.Make sure the gray and black valves are securely closed.Empty the black tank first and then the gray tank to help flush out the hose.Check for slide clearance and retract slides.Shut the shades for sun exposure and heat. Latch and secure any sliding or pocket doors.Confirm exhaust fans and roof vents are closed.Place the sink cover and stove cover on.Make sure the countertops, table top, and dressers are completely clear of any items that could rattle off during travel.Stow all appliances and gadgets: coffee maker, toaster, cutting board, dish rack, remotes, etc.Secure items in the medicine cabinet and shower.For residential refrigerators, make sure the inverter is on. Secure items in the refrigerator and freezer then securely close and lock.Secure items in the cabinets, cupboards, and drawers and close tightly.Pack up all of your belongings outside: welcome mat, camp chairs, grill, picnic table cloth, children’s toys, etc.Move the picnic table back to how you found it.Make sure the campfire is completely out.Gather all of the trash and take to the dumpster.
